Cape Ann Museum is a great stop to make while in Gloucester. All of the photos hanging in the hall outside of the 2nd floor kitchen come from their historic archives.

Nice museum, art and artifacts, a great place to get the sense of Gloucester's history. 2-4 hours depending on how fast or slow you go. Good for a rainy day.

Large number of paintings by Fitz Henry Lane and a great collection of Cape Ann scenes painted by many artists. They have great exhibits and events as well.
