Many legendary tales of the past were told here. Built in 14th century, charming architecture, elaborately great carvings also there is an interesting story through the ancient Lanna mural.

This temple contains supreme examples of Lanna art. A chedi was first built by King Pha Yu (r.1337-55) to house the bones of his father King Kam Fu (r.1328- 37). The original name of the temple was Wat Li Chiang Phra but this was changed to Wat Phra Singh when the Phra Sihing Buddha image was first housed there in 1367.

Wat Phra Singh (full name: Wat Phra Singh Woramahaviharn; Thai: วัดพระสิงห์วรมหาวิหาร; RTGS: Wat Phra Sing Wora Maha Wihan; (pronunciation); Lanna: LN-Wat Phrasing Woravihar.png) is a Buddhist temple (Thai language: Wat) in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII), the older brother of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), bestowed on it the status of Royal temple of the first grade in 1935.

Old temple (Wat) ,Attraction in Chiang Mai city. The Kingdom of Lanna, the land of Buddhism. The large chedi was built in 1345 by King Pha Yoo to house the remains of his farther King Kam Foo. A typical scripture repository is located in this temple also.
