A decent hike to get your sweat on. Need hiking boots and most likely it's muddy

Just north of Pacific Rim National Park, Radar hill is the perfect stop en route to Tofino even if the weather is a little wet. The site of a historic radar station during World War II, this short, picturesque walk offers gorgeous (and somewhat rare) views of the national park and surrounding islands from above - you'll see it all: the Pacific Ocean, Clayoquot Sound, Tofino Inlet and the majestic northern mountains. 🖤

Park at radar hill, walk south along the highway (be careful) and look for the telephone pole with an airplane on it. Follow this muddy trail to an old WW2 plane.

This beautiful look out offers great views of Clayoquot Sound on clear days. From the top of Radar Hill, if you search hard, you can find a steep, narrow trail on the left that leads down to Radar Beach. The trail isn't for the faint of heart though! It's a roughly 1 hour steep trail down, climbing roots of trees and under fallen trees and through muddy areas. Coming back up, it's a a roughly 1.5 hour climb. Good hiking boots are highly recommended.

Length: 0.2 km Elevation Gain: 11 m Located in the Pacific Rim National Park - 7 minute drive from Surfers Guesthouse. More of a lookout than a "hike", don't plan your whole day around this very short walk, but worth going to check out if you have your hiking boots on. Only recommended on clear days as it's a scenic view, and very short little trail. Bonus: park at the bottom of the hill and run up the road to the top, a popular workout.
