Tech Tourism for a Cause
Our group will tour the main office on Airbnb's growing urban campus while learning how our community of hosts, guests, and employees give back. We will do a deep dive on how design informs the culture at Airbnb, and why our mission to create a world where "anyone can belong anywhere" is so important to the work that we do. Be ready to snack on some yummy house made treats compliments of the food team.
Other things to note
You will be required to bring a valid photo ID, up to date Covid Vaccination Record (indicating that you have been vaccinated and "boosted" against Covid-19), and sign an NDA. The name on your ID must match the name on your Airbnb account. Photos & video allowed in designated areas. No large bags/backpacks.
Pottery in the Mission
We will start with some of the interesting history of the studio space. Then I will get you situated on the wheel and show you how to properly secure your lump of clay. After the clay is secured we start the wheel spinning nice and fast. I will show you how to center the clay which is a very important (and frustrating) stage of making pottery on the wheel. After we successfully center the clay, you will explore how the clay moves and reacts to your touch. We will work to form a simple shape such as a bowl or cup. To finish off we will do some clean up of the form and remove the piece from the wheel in order to start experimenting with the next piece. You can expect to get to practice with around 6 lumps of clay (more if you are ambitious) and most people will create 2-3 pieces by the end of the session.
Pieces will be professionally finished, fired, and glazed after the experience. This process takes at least 3 weeks. After the pieces are finished you can pickup in the studio or they can be shipped. Shipping costs are paid by the guest.
Other things to note
Come wearing clothes that you don't mind getting messy. We will provide aprons. If you have long hair plan to have a hair tie or a way to secure your hair back. Trim long nails if you are able.
Hidden Stairways of San Francisco
Please note: this walk is not at all strenuous. Obviously there's some stairs but this is done at a leisurely pace and suitable for almost everyone.
This breathtaking 2 mile walking tour of San Francisco's hidden stairways is the #1 rated Airbnb Experience in the Bay Area, loved by both locals and tourists alike. Great for families, friends and ideal for groups, company off-sites and team-building.
See gorgeous mosaic tiled steps and hear the stories behind them, then take in stunning 360° views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park and downtown San Francisco. You'll also discover beautiful neighborhoods and gardens that many locals are not aware of and that tourists rarely see.
Oh, and you might even go home with a succulent!
I'll provide commentary, context and some history along the way.
By booking this tour you are helping preserve and maintain these gorgeous stairs as I make annual donations to both projects.
Generally SF is dry May-October. There can be fog in the summertime, mostly in the morning. Temps rarely above 70F (21C) or below 50F (10C). Rain may cancel.
It will be necessary to carry small children as strollers are not suitable.

San Francisco Bay Sailing Awesomeness
Get a taste for what an awesome experience living, working and voyaging on a sailboat can be, while viewing fantastic landmarks from the uncrowded deck, using sustainable and eco friendly wind power. Perhaps choose an evening sail, and enjoy a wonderful sunset. We will be outside only, with plenty of space, breathing clean Pacific air!
Get a little salty while we sail and chat about what it's like going far from land and crossing oceans, from endless waves and wind, to calm nights under starry skies. Get a feel for what it's like to live and thrive in a constantly moving small space, in a beautiful but unforgiving environment.
Hear what it's like to battle Tuna and Sailfish while under sail, and have the freshest sushi minutes later. And to anchor in tropical anchorages, bathe in the sea, and surf uncrowded waves right from the boat.
Ask as little or as much as you like about surviving storms, living in foreign countries, meeting great cruising friends, and unplugging from normal living to find another path. Perhaps, ask how you can get started yourself.
Spend time aboard a beautiful, ocean-going yacht that has provided a safe and peaceful haven for her crew over the span of two decades in a green, earth friendly fashion.

Redwoods of Marin & Mt Tam Photo Art Walk
Embark on a creative escape into nature and the fresh air of Marin's majestic Redwood forest. Following quiet backroads and trails along spring-fed creeks to groves of soaring redwood trees. In this peaceful forest, unique to the northern California and southern Oregon coastal region, the sequoia sempervirens rise hundreds of feet into the sky, providing a unique habitat for wildlife.
We stop to photograph natural pools and lovely Cascade Falls, where we create botanical prints on sunny days. These works of nature art use the cyanotype photographic process that makes beautiful Prussian blue prints of ferns and leaves we find along the way. On overcast days, we gather forest leaves along our route to create elegant botanical stencil prints.
White wood frames with glass are provided for the print you make in the forest, a wonderful keepsake from this informative, visually stunning nature walk and photo outing led by local photographer, printmaker and writer Ben Davidson.
Our three-hour outing meets in downtown Sausalito at 9:30AM weekdays and noon on weekends. We shuttle to nearby Mill Valley to start our exploration of the shady redwood forest canyons at the base of Mt. Tamalpais in the heart of Marin County.
If the walk is booked and you can meet us in Mill Valley, I can accommodate you. Also see my Redwood Forests of Marin & Mt. Tam www.airbnb.com/experiences/61714

See San Francisco from a vintage VW Bus
Looking for an authentic San Francisco experience? Trade the tour bus for a vintage Volkswagen bus that easily navigates the city’s less-traveled lanes from the Golden Gate to the Painted Ladies.
You will be picked up at our easily accessible pickup location and driven by one of our professional guides in either Lillie or Harvey, our two fully restored vintage 1971 Volkswagen Type 2 Transporter Buses.
The tour will last approximately 3 hours and you will get to see all that San Francisco has to offer including 5 photo stops. Enjoy neighborhoods such as Chinatown, North Beach, The Marina, Haight Ashbury and The Castro with photo stops at Coit Tower, Palace of Fine Arts, Fort Point (under the Golden Gate Bridge), Twin Peaks and Alamo Square. Your guide will drop you off at the same location where you were picked up.
Other things to note:
Bring a camera, light jacket, and a smile. We'll provide a bottle of water. Make sure to be a little early if possible so you can find the pick-up location.
San Francisco Personal Photoshoot
Capture some of the best moments while you're in San Francisco with your own personal photoshoot. With my experience in fashion photography and understanding of the face angles and body poses, I'd love to show you how uniquely beautiful you are through my camera's lens.
Understanding that taking professional photos can be nerve-wrecking sometimes, I will help guide you through the photoshoot, and allow you to step out of your comfort zone. Don't be camera shy, be camera brave! You will get 25 Instagram worthy shots that will leave all your friends jealous!
We will meet in front of the Louis Vuitton store at Union Square, the city's central shopping, hotel, and theater district. Then we will walk around the neighborhood, where I will be guiding you through a cool street-style photoshoot.
We can also explore hidden gems around the city or visit the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. If you have a desired location, please feel free to contact me, and I will be your personal photographer for the day.
If you wish to have a shoot with your significant other or friends, please contact me as well to arrange a custom photoshoot.
Crabbing under the Golden Gate Bridge
We will meet at a pier in the Marina/Presidio district of San Francisco where we will be located near the Golden Gate Bridge. The views of the water will be spectacular and because of the size of the pier we will have more than enough room to spread out and try our techniques. Make sure to arrive early so you can find parking and pay for it if need be near The Warming Hut cafe.
Once all the guests have arrived we will learn to set up the equipment we will supply with a very detailed explanation of how and why we use particular gear. Once we have set up our rods, filled our bait in our traps we will learn the different forms of casting and the technique of reeling. Because we are fishing for crab there is a different approach to how you catch crab off of a rod and reel.
We will not be allowed to take home any Dungeness crab, unfortunately, because the Bay is a protected estuary. As a result we will be catching rock & red crab which are edible and delicious crabs to take home. This experience is an all weather endeavor so rain or shine we will make it happen.
Please join me as many others have to see if spending an afternoon out on the waterfront of the bay, meeting new people and learning a skill is right for you!
Great for big groups, corporate outings and team building exercises! Please inquire directly if you have 10+ people

The Art of Crabbing
(Dungeness season runs from Nov-June)
The ORIGINAL crabbing experience in the Bay Area teaching The Art of Crabbing. This experience has been going since the start of Airbnb's experiences. We will meet at the Chit Chat Cafe located in Pacifica on the Pacifica pier on stable dry land (no boats).
We'll provide insights on the nature of crabbing and fishing in the bay area, what crabs like to eat and why the bay is home to a large and distinctly diverse crab and shellfish population. Crabbing can be hit or miss so please understand this experience’s goal is to teach how to catch crab. The community around crabbing is unique in that people from all walks of life are there so prepare to meet new friendly folks!
Once we arrive at the pier we'll provide a thorough overview of the equipment and tactics used in the Bay Area to catch crab. We will be going for Dungeness Crab, the best in the Bay. We will be using a combination of crab snares off the rod and reel as well as a crab trap. We'll share how this has been an actively growing hobby of locals in the area. This experience is great for team building experiences & corporate offsite outings.
Please keep in mind that we will be standing for long periods of time while crabbing.. Please bring additional seating if you feel the need to have it for yourself. The goal is to learn a life skill by the end of the experience!

Guests are welcome to BYOB - Please "pack in, pack out" and take ALL trash with you. Plan to bring cups, wine opener, etc as these items will not be available on-site.

Beginner Surf Lesson - San Francisco
This 2.5-hour group clinic was designed with the beginner in mind – we welcome complete newbies as well as people who have tried surfing on their own for a while and still need help. We will walk you through all the basics to get you started and catching waves! The class starts with a short land lesson covering safety, paddling mechanics, and how to catch waves and get up on the board. After that we'll head out in the water and instructors will rotate around helping each person 1-on-1. You can expect approximately 1:30-2 hours of "water time" in the 2.5-hour total lesson. Maximum ratio of 4 students per instructor.
Other things to note
Arrive 20+ mins early! Parking costs $8 (subject to change). This is a group class, we cannot hold up others for late parties. Arriving late is same as a no-show and will forfeit your registration.
