This is one of my favorite parts of Salem! It has arcades, sea food ,pizza , best popcorn in town , gourmet ice cream, beaches, small biking and hiking paths and scenic views of the harbor. It’s usually super crowded on weekends ! And full of skunks at night, so avoid going at night.

When you go out to eat
In Salem it is custom to tip 15-25% at Restaurante’s . If you do not like your food tell waitress or waiters nicely they will usually take it off the bill.

I highly suggest not going to tourist traps
If your traveling by car there are many things to see in and around Salem. You can spend days in Salem and not see everything. Many things are free, let’s start with statues the Nathaniel Hawthorne statue near the Hawthorne hotel is a great statue to see and is also smack dab in front of the wharf. Most constitution is the oldest working ship in the navy fleet it’s amazing to see her usually anchored in Salem harbor just about a quarter mile walk or 3 min walk from the statue. Mercy tavern is a away front the crowds and offers great quick meals and drinks .
