Downtown Puerto Cayo is at ten minutes walk from our house. You get out and walk to the right until the end of the street and then you walk left until you face the Central Park. There are couple great stores: ROGER which has every day needs and spirits, the other one is ALS distributor owned by a very gracious man named Ramiro Almeida where you can get fish, shrimp, grains and spices . Also there is a hardware store named Ferretería Toala and other small fruit and vegetables stores as well as general stores

At forty minutes driving from Puerto Cayo, there is the best beach of Ecuador named Los Frailes. It is a paradisiac place, part of a Natural Reserve, which is open only till 5 pm.

Ligüiqui is a community of the San Lorenzo parish, in Manta (Manabí). Archaeological remains of the Manta culture (500 AD-1534 AD) have been found here, on the surface, or in the process of building houses.
