The sand sings when you scuff your heel across it at just the right angle (hence the name)! Popular beach! Beware: There is a $5 Walk-on fee. Very limited parking. So you can take train up 1 station and then it's a charming walk. Manchester will be happy to write up a ticket if you park in the wrong place.
Non-Residents may park in the Singing Beach Parking Lot this summer on Mondays – Thursdays ONLY, for a fee of $25.00 per day if space is available. On Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, parking is limited strictly to Manchester residents with a valid Beach Parking Sticker. Non-Resident parking will be available thru Thursday, August 30th. Please note that if you pay the $25.00 to park, you do not have to also pay the $5.00 per person walk on fee. Non-Resident parking spaces are limited and tend to sell out quickly on hot days. (10 minute drive from 32 West)

Some of its last occupants were suspected of practicing witchcraft. (Thomazine "Tammy" Younger was described as "Queen of the Witches" by Thomas Dresser) Dogtown became abandoned. Today walking through Dogtown can evoke memories of old. But beware of getting lost among its wayward trails.
