Stay as a guest in a Karen tribe village in a simple wooden house. Lovely local hosts will prepare northern dishes for you and they can take you around the village and teach you about life in local community. The house is surrounded by farmland, rice paddies and jungle. The village has a small school you can visit and there's a waterfall you can hike to. You're welcome to help your hosts with farm work and handicrafts.

Chỗ ở
The guest house is hand build using locally sourced wood, the same way as locals build their houses. Local villagers sleep on the floor but we have simple mattresses available for guests for some extra comfort. We also provide bedding and mosquito nets.

Tiện nghi khách có quyền sử dụng
Feel free to explore the area and visit your hosts in their house next to yours.

Những điều cần lưu ý khác
This is a simple house where you can experience authentic life in the Karen village. Don't expect any luxury but you will get an amazing experience if you interact with your hosts and show interest in their lives.

Breakfast is included in the price of your stay. Hosts can also prepare lunch and dinner for you. There aren't any restaurants or shops in the village, so we recommend getting all meals with your hosts. Meals should be ordered in advance so your hosts can get ingredients they need from the market which is an hour drive from the village. Price for lunch and dinner is 150 THB per person per meal. There is no menu to order dishes. Your hosts will prepare a selection of dishes for each meal. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.

There are plenty of activities you can do in and around of the village. You will need a local guide for some of them. If you would like to do any of the activities, please let us know in advance. We will prepare an itinerary for you and give you a quote for it.

Activities you can do by yourself or at no charge:
- Walk around the village
- Volunteer at local school (If you volunteer to teach English, you should stay for a whole week)
- Hike in the farmland
- Help your hosts with farm work and handicrafts
- Short trek in the jungle (there are no markings for trails, so you should always have a guide for longer treks)

Activities that require a local guide:
- Explore the village and learn how this community lives
- Learning about local farming methods - your guide can hike in the farmland with you and teach you about local farming
- Longer jungle trek - you can do a half or full day jungle trek with a guide
- Jungle style lunch - cook lunch in bamboo stems in the jungle
- Bamboo rafting - possible on the way from or to Chiang Mai
- River tubing - only possible when water level is safe
- Visit local elephant camp - no riding

Grew up in the countryside, lived in Buddhist temple for 8 years as a novice monk then I went to university where I graduated in tourism management in 2002. Along with my eco-lodges, I also operate an Eco-Tourism company, where I organize custom small and private group tours for outdoor activities off the beaten tracks, real village visits, local waterfalsl, bare back elephant riding, cooking by using bamboo in the jungle, healthy cycling and more. Ask for details! I like outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, cycling and off roading. I am very involved in local community projects and run an English teaching volunteer project as well for ethnic minority school kids.

Trong thời gian ở
I try to visit as often as possible, but can't be around at all times. Don't worry though, you're in great hands, your local hosts will take excellent care of you.
